Ocean City Masonic Lodge #171 is a Regular and Recognized masonic lodge located in Ocean City, NJ, having a charter through the Grand Lodge of F&AM of NJ, which is recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England.

History
Ocean City Masonic Lodge #171 was constituted on February 25th, 1897. The lodge was established at a meeting at the former Barrett’s Printing Shop at 807 Asbury Avenue. Attending were 125 Masons from 23 different communities in New Jersey, as far distant as Jersey City and Newark. Keystone Lodge #153 of neighboring Linwood sponsored the local lodge, as a number of its members resided in Ocean City. Wesley C. Smith was the first Worshipful Master, City surveyor William Lake was Senior Warden and R. Howard Thorn was Junior Warden. The women’s affiliate of the Masonic Lodge, known as Chapter No. 83, Order of the Eastern Star, was instituted on December 20, 1916.
